Theres a house that hosts cyclists for free and without prior notice in the back room off of their garage. Free snacks, drinks, shower, laundry and two beds. I shared the room with two guys biking across the country for charity. We left the next day, but they ended up getting to the east coast 2-3 weeks before me.
